I know that New York Fashion Week wasn’t a competition, but if it were, the award for Best Overall Performance would go to Jeremy Scott. I don’t recall the last time I was this wowed by a collection. It’s so playfully creepy, with a youthful edge. In this collection we saw mummies, zombies, leopard-print, anarchy, and some absolutely crazy neon fur. I need these things in my life.

I think my search for the perfect badass leg accessory has finally come to an end, thanks to this affordable custom-made beauty by Noctex. I’d been looking for something that I could wear entirely visible with a skirt or shorts, without veering too much into I-look-like-I’m-wearing-lingerie-and-trying-way-too-hard territory, and I think I’ve finally settled on the piece below.
I guess I have a love/hate relationship with Lady Gaga, so when I heard the woman who designed the lingerie in Gaga’s “Born This Way” video had an online shop, I was like “ehhh…do I really wanna zone in on something Gaga-related?” But NYC Sex Trash has some killer lingerie pieces, and that I can’t deny. I’m in love with the simplicity of Hopeless Lingerie. Everything at Victoria’s Secret and department stores is so over-the-top and tacky. Hopeless’ delicate fabrics, mesh panels, and well-placed straps totally beat out sheer teddies and bright lace push-up bras. And besides being sexy, the designs also look incredibly comfortable and practical, don’t they?
You’ve got the check out Boom Boom Baby’s “Burlesque and Performers” custom work gallery. They offer some lovely corsets for one thing, but you also get a glimpse of a number of really interesting performance acts (and their diverse costuming needs). I would absolutely love to get my hands on the leopard/gingham corset, and check out the performer (Anna Fur Laxis) as well.
