NYFW 2013: Furry Beasts, Lucid Dreams, And Seriously Sexy Neckwear

February 14, 2013 Posted by rissvandal

I know that New York Fashion Week wasn’t a competition, but if it were, the award for Best Overall Performance would go to Jeremy Scott. I don’t recall the last time I was this wowed by a collection. It’s so playfully creepy, with a youthful edge. In this collection we saw mummies, zombies, leopard-print, anarchy, and some absolutely crazy neon fur. I need these things in my life.

Show A Little Leg

July 24, 2012 Posted by rissvandal

I think my search for the perfect badass leg accessory has finally come to an end, thanks to this affordable custom-made beauty by Noctex. I’d been looking for something that I could wear entirely visible with a  skirt or shorts, without veering too much into I-look-like-I’m-wearing-lingerie-and-trying-way-too-hard territory, and I think I’ve finally settled on the piece below.

Love at First Blush

Sometimes people argue with me that some of the things I post about and deem “sexy” are actually pretty far from it (okay, so high-wasited panties aren’t for everyone, I get it). But do you think we can all agree on these pieces by Love At First Blush?

NYC Sex Trash

October 12, 2011 Posted by fashionvandals

I guess I have a love/hate relationship with Lady Gaga, so when I heard the woman who designed the lingerie in Gaga’s “Born This Way” video  had an online shop, I was like “ehhh…do I really wanna zone in on something Gaga-related?” But NYC Sex Trash has some killer lingerie pieces, and that I can’t deny. The Loved One Lingerie

October 4, 2011 Posted by fashionvandals

There’s a delicate, retro sex-appeal to the lingerie by The Loved One. As the cold season comes, ditch the skimp and bright colors, and invest in high waists, sheer, and lace.

Hopeless Lingerie

May 6, 2011 Posted by fashionvandals

I’m in love with the simplicity of Hopeless Lingerie. Everything at Victoria’s Secret and department stores is so over-the-top and tacky. Hopeless’ delicate fabrics, mesh panels, and well-placed straps totally beat out sheer teddies and bright lace push-up bras.  And besides being sexy, the designs also look incredibly comfortable and practical, don’t they?

Boom Boom Baby!

You’ve got the check out Boom Boom Baby’sBurlesque and Performers” custom work gallery. They offer some lovely corsets for one thing, but you also get a glimpse of a number of really interesting performance acts (and their diverse costuming needs). I would absolutely love to get my hands on the leopard/gingham corset, and check out the performer (Anna Fur Laxis) as well.
